Dipamkara Meditation Center in
Huntington, New York, was founded in 2000 by Geshe Kelsang
Gyatso to fulfill requests made by many residents of Long
Island who had developed a heart-felt wish to study and practice
his Dharma teachings. The Center's principal aim is to provide
members of the community with an opportunity to learn how
to develop inner peace and solve everyday problems. This can
be accomplished through the study and practice of Buddha's
teachings.
The Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and
a member of the New
Kadampa Tradition. It offers meditation
classes and retreats throughout Long Island for people of all levels of interest
and experience.
